Solvatten.org is a social enterprise and charitable foundation with a purpose-driven mission to provide hot, safe, and clean water to the vulnerable populations by harnessing the power of the sun.
Their Solar Safe Water System is a portable kit that cleanses water by using solar energy to heat it to 55degrees Celsius. This energy efficient product, which can last for seven years, eliminates the need for traditional methods, such as firewood and charcoal that not only pose health hazards to millions of people, but also contribute to deforestation and carbon emissions.
One of the greatest global challenges is access to clean water and the challenge increases rapidly along with the ongoing climate change. Currently, Solvatten's product is being used in more than 40 countries worldwide, benefiting more than 600,000 people and reducing 0.8 million tons of CO2 emissions. However, to expand their impact and reach more communities, Solvatten needed additional capital. Oliver Wyman assisted Solvatten in seeking investment by providing both strategic guidance and practical support in areas including market analysis, business case modeling, and producing a pitch presentation to potential investors.

The project, which spanned four weeks, involved two partners and a principal from Oliver Wyman, supported by an operational team consisting of a full-time project manager and one full-time consultant.
