Dan Anderson joined Consumer Access and Experience to lead development of the consumer insight function at St. Luke’s. He’s served in various roles at St. Luke’s over the course of the last 11 years, largely focused on facilitating development and refinement of St. Luke’s strategy and supporting plans. Before St. Luke’s, Anderson served in a variety of roles, from supporting the development of a new healthcare start-up organization, serving as an operations consultant for large health systems across the country, to engaging in Stem Cell biology research. Anderson holds a Master’s in Healthcare Administration and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Washington, and has a BA in Chemistry from Pomona College. Outside of work, Anderson and his family are usually out adventuring in to new parts of Idaho and beyond, constantly on the look-out for what’s to be discovered next.
Dr. Denise Basow joined the Ochsner Executive Team in January 2022 as the first Chief Digital Officer, with a mission to scale digital innovations that improve quality and access, engage patients, and enhance the healthcare provider experience. She is responsible for innovation Ochsner, a leader in digital healthcare solution development, information systems, AI and data, virtual health and telemedicine, consumerism, and the digital health business unit, which deploys remote patient management solutions focused on chronic diseases. The latter solutions are deployed within the Ochsner Health System and commercialized nationally. Prior to joining Ochsner’s team, Dr. Basow had a 25-year career with global information, software and professional services leader Wolters Kluwer and healthcare start-up UpToDate, where she leveraged innovation and technology to improve the quality of healthcare. She joined UpToDate as a start-up in 1996 and served as CEO for 14 years, including the formation of a larger solutions business, Clinical Effectiveness, that expanded the mission beyond clinical decision support to include patient engagement solutions. At the time of her departure, Clinical Effectiveness served more than 2 million physicians globally and tens of millions of patients. Dr. Basow received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Duke University and her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her residency at Johns Hopkins University and practiced internal medicine for several years before joining UpToDate.

Chris Bernene is a partner and the global lead of our Health and Life Sciences (HLS) Practice. Based in Boston, he has worked with health insurers, providers, life sciences companies, and digital health businesses on a wide range of strategic and operational issues for more than 25 years. Bernene brings a curious, ambitious, practical, and humble working style to all his work with clients and teams. He has advised clients through successful new business launches, major acquisitions, strategic pivots, and market expansions. He takes the HLS mission of "improving global healthcare through a relentless pursuit of a better way" very seriously and works to bring this passion to all of his engagements. Before joining Oliver Wyman, Bernene started his career in JP Morgan’s investment banking group and, later, was an associate in Fidelity Investments’ New Business Development unit. Bernene has a bachelor of arts in English from Middlebury College, a master of philosophy in English literature from the University of Oxford, and a master of business administration from Dartmouth College.
Anjali Bhagra, M.D., MBA is physician executive leader with close to two decades of experience in business transformation, healthcare technologies, and organizational strategy. She serves as the Physician Lead and Chair for the Mayo Clinic Enterprise Automation Department. In this role, she provides strategic direction and execution to enable healthcare transformation via implementation and scaling of AI and intelligent automation initiatives across Mayo Clinic’s destination medical centers, community health system sites and international practices. Dr. Bhagra’s ability to drive aspirational innovation while managing regulatory guidelines and building value has led to significant successes. She also serves as the Physician Chair of the Enterprise Office of Belonging at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Bhagra provides strategy and execution to advance inclusion and belonging at Mayo Clinic, the world’s number 1 academic center with over 82,000 employees and a volume of more than 1.3 million patients from 130 countries annually. She is a professor of medicine at Mayo Clinic and has led in many leadership roles including Vice Chair of Faculty Development for the large academic Division of General Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic and Education Chair of Integrative Medicine, board member of The Society for Ultrasound in Medical Education (SUSME), member of HIMSS Global Health Equity Network Task Force, Medical Industry Leadership Institute (MILI), Minnesota Medical Association Health Equity Community practice group, and board member National IGNITEMed program and World India Diabetes Foundation. A well-recognized leader in Medicine, Dr. Bhagra has been recognized with numerous awards including the James J. Lipsky Distinguished Service Award and the prestigious National Kesari Woman of the Year Award in India for her societal contributions towards equity and inclusion. She is co-founder of the Mayo Clinic GRIT (Growth, Resilience, Inspiration, Tenacity) in Medicine and RISE (Reflect, Inspire, Strengthen, Empower) for Equity conferences.
Peter Borden is a partner at Oliver Wyman, based in Boston. He is a key member of the CustomerFirst Practice, where he assists healthcare clients in establishing new platform businesses and reimagining how to effectively engage clinicians and consumers in value-based care. Borden's expertise spans organizational and operational models, as well as the activation of products and services in the market. With nearly three decades of experience in business, marketing, and technology, Borden specializes in the healthcare and life sciences sectors. He also possesses additional expertise in financial services and insurance. Driven by his passion for leveraging emerging technologies to deliver enhanced customer value, Borden has successfully led numerous strategic engagements in the United States and the United Kingdom. His areas of focus include healthcare platforms, customer experience and engagement, business and IT transformation, clinical informatics, and interoperability solutions. Before joining Oliver Wyman, Borden served as the chief digital officer for Cognizant's Healthcare business. In this role he helped clients succeed in their digital strategy and transformation efforts. Notable achievements during his leadership included the implementation of conversational AI "front doors," virtual health solutions for chronic conditions, vocal biometrics for predictive disease exacerbation, and ONC interoperability platforms. Prior to his time at Cognizant, Borden led the healthcare business at Sapient, where he delivered digital health consulting services in the US and UK across payer, provider, life sciences, and consumer health markets. Borden pursued studies in the Biological Basis of Behavior at the University of Pennsylvania and Computer Science at Pace University.
David Brailer, MD, PhD is Executive Vice President, Chief Health Officer and Chief Transformation Officer of The Cigna GroupSM. As Chief Health Officer, he has oversight over all clinical and health functions and the company’s health products, technologies and services. As Chief Transformation Officer, he has oversight over the transformation of the company and its products and services into the future through the Office of Excellence and Transformation. Brailer leads the company’s 20,000 clinicians and health professionals as they support the 190 million people the company serves. He is a member of the Enterprise Leadership Team of The Cigna Group. Brailer is a physician recognized for his pioneering leadership in health care, particularly in the use of technology to enhance care. Over the past three decades, Brailer has built a variety of private and public sector organizations that improve access to and quality of health care. Prior to joining Cigna in 2022, in 2011, Brailer founded Health Evolution, an organization that convenes health care leaders as they navigate rapidly changing forces in the industry. Brailer serves as Chairman of Health Evolution. In 2002, Brailer was appointed by President George W. Bush as a health policy advisor and later became the nation’s first National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. In this role, Brailer oversaw development of the nation's strategy for electronic records, information sharing, and consumer empowerment. His efforts set the foundation for the rapid adoption of digital health technologies that is underway today and that contribute to better outcomes for individuals. In 1996, Brailer founded and was CEO of CareScience, a health care information management company. Under his leadership, CareScience developed one of the nation’s earliest health care cloud solutions, serving more than 25 million patients in 500 major health care systems, health plans, and physician groups across the United States. Brailer holds doctoral degrees in medicine and economics. He earned his M.D. from West Virginia University and his Ph.D. in economics from The Wharton School. He became board certified in internal medicine after internship and residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he practiced infectious diseases and HIV medicine. Brailer was appointed a Charles A. Dana Fellow and a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania. Brailer taught for a decade at The Wharton School, where he founded the Wharton School health information technology program. Brailer is Vice Chairman of the Duke Margolis Health Policy Center and has served on the boards of directors of or as advisor to numerous health care companies, including Walgreens Boots Alliance, VillageMD, Censeo Health, and Prolacta Biosciences®.
Becky Buchen brings over 30 years of healthcare experience with expertise spanning innovation, performance improvement, clinical operations, finance, and digital transformation. Buchen has successfully led large-scale initiatives including care and digital transformation, functional redesign, and innovation ecosystem development. She created and operationalized the Office of Innovation Management and led the ROI process for innovation, generating measurable outcomes and license agreements. Her leadership in deploying rapid improvement and Lean methodologies has supported a culture of continuous improvement across OSF HealthCare. Buchen also created the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office managing the execution for the OSF Ministry as well as the Transformation Executive Counsel which governs the Innovation portfolio. OSF HealthCare employs nearly 26,000 Mission Partners across 171 locations, including 17 hospitals with 2,305 licensed beds, 200 clinics, 41 urgent care sites, and two colleges of nursing. The physician network includes over 2,215 primary care, specialists, and advanced practice providers throughout Illinois and Michigan.
Amy Christensen is a Senior Partner and Co-Head of Healthcare at The Vistria Group. Prior to joining Vistria, Christensen was a Vice President at NewSpring Capital, a middle market private equity firm with a family of funds, including a dedicated healthcare fund. Prior to NewSpring, Christensen was an investment professional with the Gores Group and Calder Capital Partners. Christensen began her career as a healthcare consultant with the Huron Consulting Group. Christensen currently serves on the Board of Directors of Behavioral Health Group, Chiro One, Supplemental Healthcare, Beacon Specialized Living, and Sandstone Care. She previously served on the boards of St. Croix Hospice, Angel Medflight, and Alacura. Christensen received a B.S. from Northwestern University summa cum laude and an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business where she was an Andrew Alper Merit Scholar.
Andy Chu leads digital transformation and health technology innovation at Providence as Senior Vice President of Product and Technology. He oversees the Digital Innovation Group (DIG), where he brings together product, engineering, data science, research, and design teams to build transformative platform technologies that improve patient care, streamline operations, and drive business growth. Under Chu's leadership, DIG has spun out leading health tech ventures—including Circle, Xealth, DexCare, and Praia Health—and continues to pioneer AI-driven solutions to enhance access, navigation, and patient engagement. He is advancing Providence’s AI infrastructure and machine learning capabilities, developing safe and scalable platforms for virtual care, workflow automation, and intelligent patient communications. With over two decades of leadership experience at Microsoft, startups, and now Providence, Chu is a champion for human-centered, technology-driven healthcare. He is passionate about using digital innovation to create seamless, personalized, and caregiver-friendly experiences across the health system.
Bradley A. Clark, MBA, is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Advocate Health, the third largest nonprofit health system in the U.S. Clark oversees revenue cycle management, financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, supply chain management, financial reporting, accounting, treasury, and managed health resources. Clark has over 20 years of comprehensive healthcare financial management experience. Prior to joining Advocate Health, Clark was senior vice president for financial planning and treasurer for Atrium Health. He held the position of executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) for Wake Forest Baptist Health (WFBH) responsible for all financial functions of WFBH including accounting and financial reporting, investment and treasury management, capital and debt structure, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, revenue cycle, payer relations and contracting, procurement, facilities, and real estate. Clark has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Appalachian State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Wake Forest University.
Brent Davis is Executive Vice President, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for AdventHealth’s Primary Health Division. In this role, Davis oversees the strategic and operational direction for this new division which is focused on orchestrating high-value, longitudinal and whole-person primary health care that enhances wellness and preventative care across multiple payor structures and meets the diverse primary care needs of our patient population. The division includes traditional, urgent care and retail-focused primary care models, as well as full risk senior primary health, urgent care, population health services and home and hospice care. Before becoming CEO, Davis served in a dual role as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Operational Officer (COO) for the Primary Health Division. He also held the position of regional CFO for the AdventHealth facilities in Volusia, Flagler and Lake counties. His extensive experience also includes roles such as CFO at Kettering Medical Center System in Ohio, as well as at St. Anthony North Hospital and AdventHealth Avista, both in Colorado. Davis began his career in public accounting with Ernst & Young. Davis holds a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in information technology from California Lutheran University and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Walla Walla University. He also is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). Together with his wife Angela, Davis has two children, Lincoln (8) and Everly (7). In his spare time, he enjoys water sports, beach days and other opportunities to be outdoors.
With 25 years of experience in the business and policy of health care, Sarah Emond leads the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review, a leading non-profit health policy research organization, as President and Chief Executive Officer. She joined ICER in 2009 as its first Chief Operating Officer and third employee, and has worked to grow the organization’s approach, scope, and impact over the years. Prior to joining ICER, Emond spent time as a communications consultant, with six years in the corporate communications and investor relations department at a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company, and several years with a health care communications firm. Emond began her health care career in clinical research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. A graduate of the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University, Emond holds a Master of Public Policy degree with a concentration in health policy. Emond also received a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Smith College. Emond speaks frequently at national conferences on the topics of prescription drug pricing policy, comparative effectiveness research, and value-based health care.
Michael A. Evans (RPh, MBA, FASHP), Chief Pharmacy Officer brings more than 25 years’ experience as a pharmacist and health system pharmacy leader. As Chief Pharmacy Officer, Evans is responsible for overall strategy development, administrative oversight, and leadership for Pharmacy services at Geisinger. He and his pharmacy leadership team have successfully built a robust network of pharmacy programs for Geisinger’s integrated delivery system. The programs consist of Hospital Programs, Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Programs, Retail Pharmacies, Mail Order Pharmacy, Specialty Pharmacies, Telepharmacy, Managed Care Pharmacy, Infusion Pharmacy, Formulary Services, Center for Pharmacy Innovation and Outcomes (CPIO), Pharmacy Fellowship & Residency Programs and Pharmacy Planning and Strategy. He has oversight of all aspects of the medication use system for inpatient, outpatient, managed care, and ambulatory clinic pharmacy operations. With a staff of over 1,000 employees, the pharmacy leadership team was able to achieve drug cost savings in excess of $250M annually as well as identifying improvements and increase overall pharmacy profit to over $500M. Our 400+ system pharmacists are in a collaborative practice model independent of site of practice which has facilitated moving Geisinger Pharmacy Programs to the forefront of multidisciplinary patient care focusing on quality, patient satisfaction, patient access and value. Geisinger is one of the largest integrated health systems in the United States serving millions of residents throughout Pennsylvania. Geisinger is widely recognized and repeatedly garnered national accolades for integration, quality, and service.
Jeremy Friese, MD, MBA is a physician-turned-AI entrepreneur on a mission to eliminate healthcare friction at scale. After nearly 20 years at Mayo Clinic—where he led global strategy, business development, and finance—Friese saw firsthand how broken processes like prior authorization delay care. Now as Founder & CEO of Humata Health, he’s tackling that problem head-on with AI that empowers providers, payers, and most importantly, patients. He went to Mayo Medical School to help patients one at a time, then to Harvard Business School to scale businesses that help millions.
Martin Graf, PhD, a former rocket scientist, has a background in aeronautics and mechanical engineering. That training and experience made him an expert problem solver, and taught him how to communicate complex ideas to a broad audience - skills he uses every day as a Partner in Oliver Wyman's Health and Life Sciences (HLS) practice. Today, Graf works with health insurers and providers to improve their strategy and operations. He has 20 years of executive-level leadership and management consulting experience in healthcare and has worked with many of the largest players in the industry. He’s directly improved their businesses, and he focuses on driving major transformations. Whether he’s designing rockets or creating a new health plan for a leading health system, Graf enjoys the challenges that come with tackling some of our country’s most complex problems. At Oliver Wyman, Graf is a member of the HLS management committee and co-leads the Government Healthcare platform. He is also the co-author of a graduate textbook on turbomachinery aerodynamics.

Steve Grieco joined MedeAnalytics as Chief Executive Officer in September 2021. A proven and experienced leader of global software-as-a-service (SaaS) organizations, Grieco has successfully driven companies to new levels of performance and growth through innovation, sales and marketing excellence, operational execution, and an enhanced customer experience. Prior to joining MedeAnalytics, Grieco was CEO of ConnectYourCare (CYC), one of the nation’s leading Health Savings Account Administrators, where he achieved significant organic revenue growth and assets under management until CYC’s sale to a Fortune 25 Company. He was instrumental in driving a unique blend of highly innovative cloud-based FinTech and HCIT platform capabilities serving all segments of the healthcare ecosystem and driving the company’s mobile first Fintech banking, payments and investment center architecture. Earlier leadership roles include leading SourceHOV, a global provider of business process solutions, strategic consulting and data analytics services, as CEO, and several advancing leadership positions within Pitney Bowes over a 25-year career—ultimately heading up the firm’s $2.2B US Mailing Operations. An attorney, Grieco holds a J.D. from Seton Hall School of Law and a B.S. in Marketing from Seton Hall University.
Drawing upon 12 years of experience in a series of federal government health policy positions, Philo Hall counsels health plans, providers, manufacturers, and related investors on the legal, policy, budgetary, and political factors influencing federal agency decision-making, with a particular focus on Medicare. Before joining Epstein Becker Green, Philo served as Counselor to Michael O. Leavitt, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Hall earlier served as Associate Director for Health on the staff of the White House Domestic Policy Council, advising the President of the United States and senior staff on emerging health care issues, legislation, and regulatory matters. Hall also served on the professional staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.
Marten Den Haring is an AI entrepreneur passionate about transforming health care and obsessed with digital technologies that reshape how we live, work, and play . Den Haring received his MSc & Ph.D. in Economics from universities in Europe and has over 25 years of product development and operations leadership experience, delivering award-winning AI solutions for healthcare, financial services, law enforcement, and national security. He has participated in several successful buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions for public and private technology companies in the United States and Canada. Den Haring is a visionary technology executive, strategic thinker, change agent, and team builder. He is passionate about transforming health care and obsessed with digital technologies that reshape how we live, work, and play. Prior to Lirio, Den Haring was SVP, Platform at Element AI, which was cofounded by Turing-award winner Dr. Yoshua Bengio. He also held executive positions at Oracle, OpenText, and Digital Reasoning.
Camille Harrison is Executive Vice President, Medicare and Chief Innovation and Experience Officer at GuideWell and Florida Blue. She oversees the Medicare company, as well as GuideWell’s Innovation, Customer Experience, and Marketing efforts. She also has oversight for the Customer Service Center for Florida Blue. Harrison has more than 30 years of health care industry experience, which includes progressive leadership roles at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and Horizon-Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, with a background in customer service, claims operations, and general business operations, including government programs and client relations. She serves on the boards of Pager, Triple-S Management Corporation, and WebTPA. In 2024, she was named to Modern Healthcare’s 2024 Innovators List. Harrison holds a BS in business education from Montclair State University in New Jersey and completed the Advanced Management Program from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Peter Horst is a Fortune 500 CMO with over 30 years of experience in consumer and business products, services and technology for market leaders such as Capital One, Hershey, General Mills, US WEST (CenturyLink), and TD Ameritrade. Across diverse industries, he drove the launch and growth of numerous iconic brands, products, and marketing campaigns. Peter most recently served as CEO of PSB Insights, a global research and analytics consultancy. He now consults on brand and marketing strategy and sits on public and non-profit boards. A former Forbes Senior Contributor, Horst is the author of the bestselling book, Marketing in the #FakeNews Era. Awards and acknowledgements include Cannes Lion, CMO Club Innovator Award, and Forbes Top 50 Most Influential Global CMO. Horst earned a BA from Harvard and an MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business.
Sana Imam leads Community Impact at ThriveLink, a telephonic AI platform improving access to public benefits and healthcare. A social impact entrepreneur and healthcare operations expert, she brings deep experience in board governance, strategy, and organizational redesign. Imam has partnered with major health systems to identify over $1B in savings opportunities, driving efficiencies and standardization while improving patient outcomes. Prior to starting her own strategic advisory firm, Imam worked at Capgemini, Navigant, and Guidehouse, where she advised health systems nationwide. Dedicated to advancing health equity, she also serves on nonprofit boards and as a healthcare policy advisor to state legislatures. Imam holds degrees from Georgetown University and Drexel University.
Sachin (pronounced SUCH-in) H. Jain, MD, MBA is CEO of SCAN Group and SCAN Health Plan, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plans, which serves more than 300,000 members across California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas and New Mexico. Previously, Jain was President and CEO of CareMore and Aspire Health, which served 200,000 Medicare and Medicaid patients in 32 states. He also served as Chief Medical Information & Innovation Officer at Merck & Co., was Senior Advisor to the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and was the first Deputy Director for policy and programs at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). Jain graduated from Harvard College and earned his MD from Harvard Medical School and MBA from Harvard Business School. He is Adjunct Professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine and is a member of the boards of America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), Omada Health, Advantage Healthcare Services, The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans, and the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
Dr. Carolyn Jasik is a board-certified pediatrician with a career spanning health technology startups, multidisciplinary care, education, and research. Prior roles in digital health include serving as Chief Medical Officer at Omada Health. At Verily, Jasik supports the clinical and research teams to create and test the next generation of precision medicine solutions for chronic disease. She also holds a post as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She completed her medical degree at the University of Chicago and her residency, fellowship and research training at UCSF.
Ellen Kelsay is President and CEO of Business Group on Health. She is a sought-after speaker and expert on health and well-being issues. Kelsay hosts the Business Group on Health podcast and has authored various industry publications appearing in Harvard Business Review, Modern Healthcare, Pharmaceutical Executive and Employee Benefit News, among others. She frequently contributes on an array of critical topics such as health care affordability, prescription drug pricing, transparency, well-being, mental health, health inclusion and innovation across the U.S. and globally. Heather Staples Lavoie joined Horizon BCBSNJ in 2024 and has accountability for Enterprise Operations, Information Technology & Security, the Program Management Office and Analytics divisions. Lavoie previously spent over a decade to build and eventually serve as President and CEO of Geneia, a healthcare technology, AI, and analytics subsidiary of Capital BlueCross, serving more than 8 million members across health plans, provider, and employer organizations. Lavoie has an extensive health care business and technology background, spanning more than three decades with national payors, providers, and service organizations, and founding and exiting start-up organizations. Carol A. Lovin, MHSA, MN, is Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff and Chief Integration Officer for Advocate Health, the third largest non-profit health system in the United States – created from the combination of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health. Jo Natauri is the Founder and Managing Partner of Invidia Capital Management. Natauri has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry, holding roles of impressive responsibility at Goldman Sachs beginning in 2006 and culminating as Global Head of Healthcare Private Investing from May 2018 to December 2023. Munjal Shah is the Co-founder and CEO of Hippocratic AI, a startup building the first safety-focused large language model (LLM) for healthcare. He was co-founder and CEO of an AI company that was acquired by Google and a marketplace management, research and analytics company eventually sold to Alibaba. Previously he was President of Allscripts [NASDAQ:MDRX] from 2001 until the end of 2012. Prior to stepping in as CFO of Livongo and leading its 2019 IPO, Shpairo served on the board of the company since its launch, chaired the audit committee and as a member of its compensation committee. During his tenure as CFO, Livongo also had a successful secondary offering, raised $550M in convertible debt and entered into an agreement to merge at the highest valuation, $18.5B, of any healthcare technology company, based on revenue multiples. The price of $159 per share was over six times the price of Livongo’s shares at the time of its IPO, just 12 months earlier. He resides in Ponte Vedra, Florida, with his wife Claudia and their two golden retrievers, Bella and Beau. Thomas is an avid cyclist.
Michael R. Vennera is Executive Vice President and the Chief Strategy, Technology and Operations Officer at Independence Health Group (Independence). Vennera has been with Independence for nearly 27 years. During that time, he has held several leadership roles in various areas, including informatics, information systems, operations, and innovation. He brings a rare blend of expertise in strategic planning and deep understanding of IT innovation and health plan operations. He has overseen numerous corporate initiatives. Those initiatives include launching new members, sales, and provider portals; increasing cybersecurity measures; developing new resources to better serve associates’ technology needs; and strengthening the company’s focus on equitable whole-person health by collecting and analyzing data to address algorithmic bias. In addition, Vennera has overseen a multi-year enterprise platform and operations transformation. Vennera has also been instrumental in many of Independence’s strategic initiatives. His achievements include launching a corporate innovation program, initiating and managing a strategic investment portfolio, and leading the development of the company’s long-term strategy. Vennera is a trustee of the Philadelphia Orchestra and serves on the Corporate Committee of the Franklin Institute Awards. He is active on the boards for Brighter Horizon, which supports first-generation college students and their families, and Fred’s Footsteps, which helps families by providing direct financial assistance for non-medical expenses. Vennera is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in information systems.
Julie Yoo is a General Partner on the Bio and Health team at Andreessen Horowitz, where she leads investments in companies that are transforming how we access, pay for, and experience healthcare. Her portfolio includes AKASA, Ambience, Bayesian Health, Bold Health, Firefly Health, Hippocratic AI, Marker Learning, Marley, Patina, Season Health, Sprinter Health, Thatch Health, Tomorrow Health, Topography, Turquoise Health and Zus Health. Prior to joining Andreessen Horowitz, Yoo was the cofounder and Chief Product Officer of Kyruus, a VC-backed healthtech company where she helped build and scale the business from 0 to 20M patients and over 225,000 healthcare providers across the US using their platform. Before that, Julie was VP of Product at Generation Health (acquired by CVS Health) and a Product Manager at Knome. Yoo's tech career began as an early member of the software engineering team at Endeca Technologies, which was acquired by Oracle. Yoo studied computer science and pre-medicine as an undergrad at MIT and obtained an MS in genomics from Harvard-MIT HST and an MBA from MIT Sloan. Yoo is a Young Global Leader with the World Economic Forum and has been recognized through numerous awards and honors from Midas Brink List, Becker’s Hospital Review, Health Data Management, MedTech Boston, and Rock Health.
