Earlier today, as part of this year's Oliver Wyman Health Innovation Summit, close to 100 attendees went on four different on-site, interactive Immersion Tours to learn first-hand how some of the Dallas region’s most cutting-edge and innovative healthcare facilities are helping reshape the greater market in areas including telehealth, brain health, hospital design, and preventative care. Learn more about what we learned below. (The next Oliver Wyman Health Innovation Summit will be November 5-7, 2018 in Dallas, Texas.)

Catapult Health’s Simple Preventative Care Secret

This healthcare facility’s innovative solution is simple: Bring your physician to work. As a reported 80 percent of Americans fail to visit their primary care provider on a regular basis, Catapult Health aims to promote a happier, healthcare workforce by making it easier for members of the workforce to take preventive care measures. Through their program, a clinician at your office performs a 30-minute check and onsite blood work.

Children’s Health Breathes new Life into Telehealth

Children’s Medical Center of Dallasan over 100-year-old pediatric hospital caring for over 360,000 patients annually, is using virtual technology like video chatting and remote patient monitoring capabilities to care for children – even those children located hundreds of miles away.

Center for Brain Health Dives Deep into the Art of Thinking

Attendees touring this state-of-the art research facility learned more about several new technologically-savvy programs, like VR, that are being used here to help study how the brain functions. Additionally, our attendees sat down for a session on the importance of mindfulness.

UT Southwestern Clements Hospital Designs for the Future

During this Immersion Tour, visitors tacked the followed question head-on: “What’s best for our patients?” It was this question that influenced Clement’s design team – along with input from those including physicians, nurses, institutional innovators, and community voices – when Clement decided to execute an innovative W-shaped design for their hospital layout.
