While the desired destination is unequivocally a greener future, the journey ahead — if we are to sidestep a messy revolution — needs to be far more considered
The energy transition is essential. But, as Andrew Horncastle, IMEA Head of Energy and Natural Resources writes in The National, stakeholders from all parts of the world, including the Middle East and Africa, must be part of the conversation as we negotiate this new territory.
He also discusses how, from his viewpoint, all three prongs of the energy trilemma — security, affordability, and sustainability — need to be considered as we move toward a net-zero future; and, while dialogue is encouraging, frameworks that enable and encourage measurability must be prioritized.
