Ward is a principal in our Energy and Natural Resources, and Private Capital Practices, based in Paris.
His career began in academia, where he authored a thesis on the investment behavior of private equity investors. His innate curiosity for new developments and innovations fuels his passion for areas such as renewable energy and hydrogen. He works closely with clients to devise and execute innovative solutions that contribute to a fully decarbonized energy system.
In 2012, Ward relocated to Paris and has since been part of international project teams across Europe and Asia. This experience has sharpened his ability to view challenges from various angles and craft bespoke solutions that cater to each client’s unique situation. He provides comprehensive support to clients, assisting them in areas such as strategy development, market entry, and new business development within the expansive energy sector.
The energy transition significantly influences the entire value chain, from energy production to the efficient utilization of energy in industries and buildings. While it presents business opportunities, it also poses substantial transformation challenges and the need to repurpose legacy assets
Additionally, Ward assists investors in evaluating opportunities within the energy sector, performing due diligence, and making certain that investment commitments are fulfilled. He derives great satisfaction from seeing his clients return with successful projects that were conceived based on the strategies they co-developed.
In his capacity as a co-lead of PrOWd in the Paris office, he is a fervent advocate for inclusion and diversity in the workplace.
During his downtime, he indulges in his passion for cooking, specializing in crafting ice cream from the fruit grown in his garden. He also enjoys running.
