Michael is a partner in Oliver Wyman’s Government and Public Institutions Practice in Australia. He leads our Canberra office and our work with the Federal Government.
With nearly two decades of experience as a strategy consultant, Michael has supported clients in Australia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. He has worked extensively with various Australian government agencies on large-scale transformation programs, focusing on areas such as climate change, environment, science, trade, immigration, border security, and defense.
In his role, Michael assists senior public sector leaders in implementing significant reforms within their organizations. This includes defining a compelling case for change, navigating complex government stakeholder environments, securing investments, and ensuring the right capabilities are brought in at the right time for successful program delivery.
I love working in fast paced environments with leaders who have the desire to improve the lives of people and the environments in which they live. I am driven by the feeling I get helping a passionate leader chart a more sustainable and resilient path for their organization, and removing the noise, to refocus their workforce on their true purpose
Michael is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering from the Australian National University.
Outside of work, he reads science fiction books and revisionist histories. He also enjoys spending time engaging in activities such as gardening, hiking, camping, and playing tennis.
