Matt leads our Financial Services practice in Europe.
He has more than 25 years of consulting experience, during which he has advised clients on a broad range of strategic and operational matters in a number of developed and emerging markets, having spent part of his career leading our Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) practice in Asia.
Moving to Asia in 2006 was a turning point for me. Arriving there with my wife and four children – at that point all aged eight and under – with a mandate to build our CIB practice in the region was a real personal and professional adventure. I learned a huge amount in terms of how to be most valuable to clients, as well as how to build a team around a sense of collective endeavor.
During his career, Matt has led several major clients through a range of strategic and transformational situations. His recent work has included advising clients in their response to disruption whether driven by technology, new entrants, regulation, or the geo-political context.
I am more excited now about the future of Financial Services than I have been at any point in my career. The challenges with which the world is confronted – post-pandemic recovery, transition to net-zero, the need for greater financial inclusion, increased geopolitical complexity – offer a once in a generation opportunity for financial institutions to re-establish a sense of purpose and take the lead.
Matt holds a Master’s degree from the University of Cambridge in Economics and Modern Languages, and speaks French and Spanish fluently.
