Mathieu leads our Financial Services Practice in India, Middle East, and Africa, enabling large transformation programs and helping clients enhance performance and adapt to market dislocations. He also serves as our Saudi Arabia Market Leader.
Mathieu entered the consulting world after graduating from HEC Paris and has two decades of experience advising leaders of finance ministries, sovereign funds, banks, and central banks across Europe, the US, the Middle East, and Africa.
The reason I joined Oliver Wyman was the mindset of the people I met in the interviews: diverse, gifted, challenging conventional wisdom, but at the same time open and down-to-earth. I felt I would learn a lot from them (which I certainly have)
Beyond leading large transformation programs, Mathieu notes that he’s also built deep and lasting friendships with people from very diverse horizons and cultures. “We faced impossible odds together and succeeded through grit and determination. This created a lasting bond and enabled me and my friends, colleagues, and clients to grow personally.”
A strong believer that consulting (as life) is about the people you cross paths with and share your journey with, Mathieu’s advice to new consultants is to “choose your firm, your team and your clients based on positive instincts about the people you meet.”
After Oliver Wyman, he would like to retire in the mountains of Lebanon or Morocco and set up an olive farm, and hone his “black belt” story-telling skills.
