Kim is a principal in our Aerospace and Defense Practice, based in Los Angeles.
She has extensive experience bringing teams together to help aerospace and defense contractors achieve their growth objectives. This is accomplished through rigorous top-line strategy development and bottom-line efficiency improvements, spanning operations from sourcing and supply chain management to fulfillment.
Kim’s recent projects have varied from inventory planning to ensure the right parts follow the correct stocking strategies, to strategic sourcing aimed at reducing the cost of goods sold. She has also worked on outsourcing warehousing operations, leveraging the capabilities that third-party logistics (3PLs) have to offer, ultimately reducing working capital.
The space sector is at an inflection point with the upcoming race to the moon and beyond. The shift by NASA from cost-plus to service-based contracting has opened up commercial competition for smaller players and increased the number of use cases
Kim joined Oliver Wyman in 2021 and brings with her more than 15 years of management consulting experience from various major firms. Additionally, Kim has worked in business development at SpaceX and began her career at The Boeing Company as a design engineer.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the Tepper School of Business, both from Carnegie Mellon University. Kim is also a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
Outside of work, Kim enjoys adventures with her husband and daughter, whether it’s heading to the mountains to ski in their converted Sprinter camper van, or diving into the ocean to scuba dive. Her husband is a master scuba instructor, she is a divemaster, while her daughter is a SAG-AFTRA Union actor.
