Jean-Pierre Cresci is a partner in Oliver Wyman’s Paris office and leads the global Surface Transportation Practice.
He has 20 years of professional experience as an advisor to the rail industry with a specialization in business transformation and turnaround programs, including strategic repositioning, reorganizations, and operational performance. Among Jean-Pierre's clients are some of the largest rail operators and OEMs based in Europe, North America, and Africa. He has also driven transformation and performance programs for companies in other sectors, including Logistics and Aerospace.
The rail industry, and more globally, mobility, is facing massive transformations, triggered by digital, liberalization, sustainability, and urbanization. While rail will remain a critical component of future mobility systems, operators and OEM will have to transform to adapt to new paradigms
Jean-Pierre’s clients seek him out for his 360 industry knowledge, which spans the whole value chain — authorities of transport, top operators, and OEMS, working across topics in procurement, operations, engineering, and project management. His comprehensive understanding of the sector has allowed him to support players engaging in innovative transformations and build an extensive network across the industry.
Jean-Pierre graduated from the French business school ESSEC, and holds an Engineering degree from the Institut d’Electronique de Paris as well as a degree in management from the University of Paris-Sorbonne.
In his spare time, Jean-Pierre is an avid fan of tennis and an intrepid traveller, having spent some time exploring some of the remote areas of the world. “Travelling is one of my big hobbies. There are incredible places to explore and all sorts of opportunities to discover new people and new cultures,” he says.
