A Partner in our Organizational Effectiveness practice, Ilana helps clients to realize business objectives through people. Based in Toronto, Ilana came to Oliver Wyman after five years at Mercer, another Marsh McLennan company. As a Partner in their Career business, and the leader of their Transformation practice in Canada, she focused on using her expertise to expand client relationships in financial services, retail and consumer goods, and transportation and aerospace industries.

Prior to Mercer, Ilana had a long tenure at Deloitte, where she gained extensive global client experience - across Canada, the US, and Central Europe. She’s covered all areas of human capital, having led and delivered engagements in strategic change, culture and behavior transformation, M&A integration, strategy activation, workforce transformation, talent management, and engagement.

Be true to yourself and your passion. With passion comes great work, great connection, and immense opportunity. Be yourself and embrace those around you. And at the end of the day, always try to pay it forward

An MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from University of Guelph deepened Ilana’s appreciation for “the delicate balance of IQ and EQ and the openness that can come from exploring and applying curiosity to every business issue.” While her professional and educational experiences certainly equipped her with a unique skill set, Ilana notes that she wouldn’t be where she is today without the combined influence of her myriad of experiences.

“Reflecting back, my whole life has prepared me for today,” she says. Serving tables, she learned the importance of independence, and the need to cater to individuals in delivering meaningful experiences. From professional dance, she learned the value of hard work and the challenge of continuous improvement. From growing up in a modern family, the realization that the whole is truly greater than individual parts and the value of an open heart. And from moving around to different cities and countries for school – for work – or for life, the value of building and sustaining long-lasting relationships.

Outside of her role, Ilana’s most important aspirations are to encourage her two kids to live full, appreciative, curious, and generous lives; and to give back to people she loves and to the community. She’s already had a head start, having originated MMC’s Good Day program and serving as the past chair of Holland Bloorview's Connect for Kids Committee, dedicated to raising funds and engaging new individuals, companies, and volunteers in support of the Rehabilitation Hospital.
