Anne is a principal in Oliver Wyman’s Operations Practice in Chicago. She specializes in rapid profitability transformation initiatives for private equity clients and large corporations.
Originally from Germany, Anne has always had an affinity for the American Midwest and its culture. She is a passionate runner and rower, an advocate for diversity and women in business, an award-winning mojito bartender, bookworm, design thinking coach, education enthusiast, entrepreneur, and most of all, a global citizen.
None of us is as smart as all of us – and everyone has a skill or piece of knowledge to bring to the table.
A strong believer in getting to know team members personally (including client teams), Anne regularly holds feedback sessions with her counterparts on the way they work together, which became even more important with the onset of remote working and reduced opportunities to informally touch base. She regularly hosts trainings on personal branding for new joiners at Oliver Wyman, and is known for scheduling spontaneous voluntary coaching sessions with her team when she sees that a certain skill (quantitative analysis or verbal communication for example) could be improved by her sharing her experience.
Anne has led numerous profitability transformation projects in both Europe and the US, focusing on sourcing initiatives both for direct, indirect, and tail spend. Her work spans numerous industry sectors, from hotel chains to airplane parts manufacturing – always with a focus on procurement and creative ways to lower her clients’ cost base. Often, her projects also involve positioning the procurement department as a stronger entity within the organization.
Anne particularly enjoys preparing her clients and team members for key supplier negotiations as well as taking part in them herself. Recently, Anne has been working to expand her knowledge in sustainable and digital procurement in order to provide the latest knowledge to her clients.
Each of us has the opportunity to change and grow throughout our entire lives. It’s up to us to keep an open mind and look beyond ourselves every day to ensure we keep challenging the status quo.
In her free time, Anne and her partner love to visit their friends and family all over the world. These travels bring them everywhere from the US and Germany to Estonia, Australia, and France. Conveniently, Anne is fluent in three languages. She is also currently training for her first marathon.
